A group of students came from TOES, TJSHS and SVS to Crestview Elementary School on Friday to presents what they call “powwow style dances.” The dances presented consisted of “Jingle Dress” and  “Fast and fancy” which are both girls and boys traditional dances. They also shared what they call a “friendship dance/round dance” where students from all the schools shook hands. One last dance that was shared with the students is called “inter-tribal.” This is a dance where they invited others to join as they danced together. In this dance, students wearing their regalia and students not wearing regalia joined together with Crestview students to end the dance portion of the presentation.

Crestview thanks the drummers, singers and dancers for sharing this part of their Native American culture with us.
