Carbon Monoxide Detectors Installed Throughout Waldport Schools

Newport, OR – February 14, 2019 – Yesterday, Facilities Manager,CO Detector Installing CO Detector Tim Kaufman, personally installed 33 of the 70 Carbon Monoxide Detectors that were ordered from 7 vendors in a rush delivery to be placed throughout Crestview Heights Elementary and Waldport Middle/High School. After concerns arose from a misfire that emitted diesel smoke from the furnace, Superintendent Dr. Karen Gray made sure to deliver on her promise of “doing everything possible to keep children and staff safe from possible emissions in the future.”

The remaining CO Detectors will be completely installed this week, but Crestview Heights Elementary was finished yesterday afternoon.

CO Detectors are not required in to be installed in schools in Oregon.
